FRESNO, Calif. - Jordan Ribera reached 14 home runs Tuesday night after launching a solo shot over the right field wall in the Bulldogs 12-1 loss to CSU Bakersfield. Fresno State is 20-14 this season and 3-1 in WAC.
Junior Garrett Weber had a 2-for-3 night with a pair of singles. The `Dogs recorded seven hits against the Roadrunners.
CSU Bakersfield jumped on the board first scoring in the first inning of the game. The roadrunners added six unearned runs in the second inning taking the lead, 8-0.
Weber recorded the second hit of the game with a single up the middle in the second inning.
Jordan Ribera led off the second inning with his 14th home run of the season. The junior hit a solo shot over the right field wall into the weight room parking lot and the `Dogs trail, 8-1.
In the third inning, the Roadrunners hit a two-run home run increasing their lead, 10-1.
The Roadrunners scored a run in the fifth inning extending their lead, 11-1.
Catcher Trent Garrison hit a double down the right field line for the third hit of the game. Weber followed with his second hit of the night, a single through the right ride.
CSUB added a run in the eighth inning increasing their lead, 12-1.
In the ninth inning, pinch hitter Scott David recorded his first career hit, a single through the right side. Pinch hitter Clay Cederquist followed with a single up the middle moving David to second base. Left fielder Kenny Wise singled through the right side advancing the runners. Freshman Austin Wynns hit a sacrifice fly allowing David to score and the Bulldogs trail, 12-2.
The Roadrunners won the game, 12-2. The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday, April 16 at 6:05 p.m. against Louisiana Tech.
