Baseball Swept By Hawai'i

HONOLULU, Hawai'i - Keahi Rawlins and Rich Olsen threw a combined five-hit shutout as Hawai'i defeated Fresno State 2-0 Sunday to complete a three-game series sweep.
The three-game series sweep was the first in school history for UH against Fresno State and also its first series win against the Bulldogs since 2000 when it won two of three in Honolulu.
Fresno State was shut out for the second time in the series and the fifth time this season. The Rainbows clinched the season series 4-2.
The Bulldogs have lost seven of their last ten and dropped to 21-20 overall and 7-8 in the WAC while the Rainbows improved to 23-19 overall and 5-13 in conference play.
Rawlins (4-2) scattered four hits over seven innings while walking three and striking out two to earn his fourth victory of the season. Olsen allowed one hit over the final two innings to notch his second save of the year.
UH designated hitter Rocky Russo lined a one out RBI single in the fourth inning to plate infielder Andrew Sansaver with the first run of the game. Sansaver walked to open the frame. The Rainbows took a 2-0 advantage in the fifth on a one out sacrifice fly by infielder Brian Finegan.
Fresno State senior lefty Donnie Bair (2-1) allowed a run on two hits while walking four and striking out one over 3 1/3 innings to pick up his first loss of the season.
Freshman designated hitter Kent Sakamoto went 2-4 with two singles to lead the Bulldogs at the plate.
The Bulldogs return to Friday when they play host to Nevada at 6:35 p.m. in the first of a three-game series.
