Baseball Preview: at Pacific [April 15]

Games 37: Fresno State Bulldogs (18-18, 7-10 MW) at Pacific Tigers (17-20, 7-8 WCC)
First Pitch: April 15 - Tue: 6 p.m.
The Bulldogs return to the Golden State after kicking off their seven-game road swing at New Mexico. The Lobos edged out the 'Dogs 5-4 in the Friday night opener, UNM exploded for a seven-run fourth inning to win 11-6 Saturday, and they completed the series sweep of Fresno State Sunday with a 4-1 victory. Jordan Luplow continued to be the stronghold for the Bulldogs' offense, going 5-for-10 from the plate for the series. He homered twice and now leads the Mountain West with seven home runs this season. Brody Russell and Taylor Tempel also connected for homers, each their first long ball of the season.
Over the weekend, Pacific came up with its second West Coast Conference series win of the season, taking 2-of-3 from San Francisco on the road. Pacific captured game one 11-7 as the Tigers scored eight unanswered runs in the late innings of the game. Game two went to the Dons 3-2 in extra innings and in the finale, Pacific scored a season-best 12 runs on a season-high 18 hits to win 12-9 and take the series.
RHP William Munro (2-0, 2.97 ERA), who has become the Bulldogs go-to option for midweek games, will make his seventh start of the season and fourth consecutive Tuesday start. Pacific will throw RHP Jordan Gonzalez (0-0, 12.46 ERA).
Following Tuesday's game the Bulldogs will stay on the road and continue northward to close their road trip with a three-game series against the Nevada Wolf Pack. The Mountain West series will begin Thursday and conclude on Saturday in lieu of Easter Sunday.
