    RUSTON, La. - The Fresno State baseball team begins its quest for a third straight WAC tournament title on Thursday at 9 a.m. (Pacific Time) when they play Sacramento State. The Bulldogs go into this week's tournament as the No. 1 seed while the Hornets are the No. 6 seed. The tournament is double elimination.

    Thursday and Friday's games will be heard live on 1550 AM and 96.1 FM. The Bulldogs then will be heard on 580 KMJ on Saturday and Sunday.

    Every game of the WAC tournament will be streamed on line. Fans can sign up by visiting www.WAC.tv. The entire tournament can be viewed for a single subscription price of $18.95, which will include on-demand viewing of any of the games the following day.

    The two teams split a four-game series last weekend, with Fresno State winning the final two games 6-4 and 13-6 and Sacramento State won the first two games 9-8 and 4-0.

    The split at Sacramento State gave the Bulldogs their third straight regular season title. It is the first time since 1984 a Fresno State baseball team has won the title three straight years. In 1979-84, Fresno State won five straight conference titles. Since 1999 Rice and Fresno State have been the only WAC regular season champions.

    Fresno State's overall record in the WAC Tournament is 17-6. The Bulldogs last loss was in 1998 when they went 3-2 and lost to Rice in the tournament championship. The WAC did not have a conference tournament from 2000-05.

    During the 32 game conference schedule Alan Ahmady hit an impressive .420 with eight homeruns , 48 RBIs and a .706 slugging percentage. Steve Susdorf hit .398 in conference with seven homeruns and 47 RBIs.

    Susdorf is three RBIs away from becoming the school's career RBI leader. He currently has 198, with the leader being Todd Johnson with 200. Johnson played at Fresno State from 1990-93.

    Sacramento State is 23-32 and finished 14-17 in conference play. Gabe Jacobo leads the Hornets with a .379 average, 14 homeruns and 65 RBIs. David Flores is hitting .373 with a league best 26 doubles.
