FRESNO, Calif. - John Ostlund and the KYNO staff stepped up to the plate this baseball season and hit a home run. In just two short years of covering baseball, AM 940 KYNO created a promotional momentum that has moved Fresno State baseball into the Central Valley spotlight.

"All of us at 940 KYNO could not be more proud than to be the Home of Fresno State Baseball," said John Ostlund. "Our goal from the beginning has been to build fan support -- `butts in seats'. Our marketing theme, `If you can't be there, be here' was created with this in mind."

In its first year with Fresno State baseball, KYNO added TV and billboards to their promotional plan and in year two they reintroduced the singing of the National Anthem before all home games by local artists scheduled through the station. On-air, Ostlund and KYNO have done a phenomenal job moving the promotional momentum forward. They plan for one new promo a week, but most often there are two or three different spots that are all featuring a unique twist of what was happening on the field.

"John Ostlund has embraced the Bulldog Baseball program and the entire KYNO staff moves new ideas forward to help us take baseball to an entire new audience," said Paul Ladwig, Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. "From the billboards, to the TV spots and all the weekly on air promos John and KYNO have been wonderful partners."

Ostlund and KYNO pride themselves in being the home of Fresno State baseball. They realize they are working with a great program and a very motivated coach which makes their job feel that much easier.

"Of course, having a great product makes the job of marketing so much easier," said Ostlund. "I've never met a coach more focused than Mike Batesole -- and I've never been more motivated to help someone get what they deserve more. Our team is young...and hungry. Don't be surprised, this season isn't over yet!"
