ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Four members from the Fresno State baseball team were selected for Sunday's 49th Annual Alaska Baseball League Home Run Derby and All-Star Game at Mulcahy Stadium in Anchorage.
Pitcher Garrett Mundell of the Anchorage Bucs has the third-best ERA in the ABL, boasting a 0.74 in six starts and owns a 3-1 record. The current Bucs' pitcher has also posted 25 strikeouts to 12 walks.
Anchorage Glacier Pilots infielder Brody Russell, owns .270 batting average with nine RBIs.
Infielder Jake Alvarez, a member of the Peninsula Oilers, is batting .306 and ranks No. 5 in the ABL through 25 games.
Taylor Tempel, who is also playing for the Peninsula Oilers, was featured in the Home Run Derby, along with Russell and Mundell preceding the mid-summer classic.
The four were all reunited as representatives of the ABL's South team on Sunday evening.
