Bulldogs Read with Fresno Students
Oct. 2, 2008
FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State baseball team gave back to the community by attending Family Reading Night at Kratt Elementary on Sept. 19. "It was really nice and fun to give back to the community that I grew up in," said pitcher Holden Sprague. "I was more nervous reading to them than I was playing in the College World Series." Gavin Hedstrom, Holden Sprague, Daniel Moultire, Jace Brown, and Jake Showers shared their love of reading with 110 students. "We had 110 children attend this event, which was focused on reading," said PTA President Michelle Petersen. "We have 110 children more excited about books and reading than ever before. We think your players had a lot to do with that." Every child that attended the event was given a book that was donated by the community. Then the students were given the opportunity to listen to stories read aloud by baseball players. "Join the State, Fresno State!" - The `Dogs head north to Oregon State as they take on the Beavers on Friday, October 3 at 5 p.m. They return to Bulldog Stadium on Sunday, October 12 as they take on WAC rival Hawai'i at 2 p.m. To purchase tickets, click on the tickets icon at the top of this page, call the Bulldog Ticket Office at (559) 278-DOGS, or stop by the Bulldog Ticket Office.
