FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State Head Coach Mike Batesole announced the signing of the 2012 baseball recruiting class. The Bulldogs have signed eight players to National Letters of Intent, all of whom will graduate from high school in the spring of 2012.

This is the most decorated and accomplished class in recent memory. The previous three classes were ranked among the top in the country. In 2009, the `Dogs were ranked 10th nationally. The 2010 and 2011 classes were ranked 28th and 19th respectively.

"This is a fantastic recruiting class for Fresno State Baseball and we like the high school talent it will bring to our program," said Batesole, a two-time National Coach of the Year. "We have added two right-handed pitchers (one is a two way player), one left-handed pitcher, a catcher, and four very athletic infielders (two of which are left handed hitters). This class brings a nice combination of speed and power that will impact our program right away. As you can see we have continued to sign the best players from the central valley first. Thanks to the combined staff efforts of Recruiting Coordinator Pat Waer, Assistant Coach Steve Rousey, and Volunteer Assistant Coach Ryan Overland - this may be our best recruiting class ever."

This class is anchored by the best players in the San Joaquin Valley. Highlighted by Blake Quinn from Bullard High School of Fresno, Preston Scott from Hanford High School, and Brody Russell from Centennial High School of Bakersfield.

The eight member 2012 recruiting class all hail from the state of California.
