USAFA, Colo. --- Bulldogs' guard Tyler Johnson scored 20 points and point guard Cezar Guerrero added 18 as the Fresno State men's basketball team took advantage of several scoring runs to beat Air Force 68-51 on Wednesday night at Clune Arena.

"Really hard fought win for my guys tonight," Fresno State third-year head coach Rodney Terry tweeted (@RodneyTerry) after the game. "They played hard, together and unselfish against a good Air Force team on the road!"

Johnson knocked down four 3-pointers to lead the Bulldogs and has now scored at least 20 points in seven of his last nine games. Fresno State sophomore wing Marvelle Harris added 12 points.

"Tyler puts his heart and soul into every game," Terry said of Johnson. "He plays extremely hard and he's a highly competitive kid. He's been a great leader for us and we look for him to finish out the season leading the way he has all year."

Fresno State (10-13, 3-7 Mountain West) capitalized on Air Force's 4 minute and 19 second shooting drought late in the first half to take off on an 8-0 run and lead 29-19 at the break.

The Falcons (9-12, 3-7) climbed within six after Hayden Graham made a 3-pointer, but the Bulldogs quickly responded with a 10-0 run to shoot ahead by 14 points with 5:04 left to play.

"On the road, you have to stay together," Terry said. "(Air Force) made a run at us and I thought that our guys did a great job of staying together and having each other's back. We kept playing. We've made a lot of strides over the course of the season."

Marek Olesinski scored four 3-pointers on 6-of-13 shooting to lead Air Force and finished with 17 points. The Falcons went the final 2 minutes without a basket as Fresno State closed out the game with nine uncontested points.

"We've said that we have to play for 40 minutes and I think our guys are kind of figuring that out right now," Terry said. "It doesn't matter if we get out to a good start, bad start... we have to play for 40 minutes in this league."

The win marked the second straight for the Bulldogs, who completed their first season sweep of Air Force since 1996. The 17-point conference road win was the largest for Fresno State since a 61-44 win at Louisiana Tech back on Jan. 3, 2008.

Fresno State returns home to face San Jose State on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. PT. All fans are asked to wear white as part of a special WHITEOUT promotion with hundreds of white "DOG TERRY-TORY" t-shirts being thrown out to the crowd during the game.
