On how the game went against Louisiana Tech
"I give a lot of credit to Louisiana Tech, they came in here, they've been a hot team and have one four games in a row, we knew we had a confident team coming in. This time of year, just like I said to our guys, you can't throw away 20 minutes of a ball game where you don't come out and execute. You're not going to be in control of making shots every night but you sure can control your defense and your effort and that was the disappointing part with us tonight."
What did you say to the team to get them back in the game after halftime?
"We put so much pressure on offense and we weren't making shots and it compounded, not guarding on the other end. When you let a team shot 63% in the first half, you're not going to win very many games. We talked obviously about trying to clean up the defense, we knew shots were going to come and make some shots in the second half, we needed to try and finish out some possessions and work play by play to get ourselves back in the game and we needed to take control of the basketball."
The players kept missing their shots, what was going on?
"We can't ever go into a game and say we are going to make shots or this or that. Shot preparation in terms of we were missing some point blank. Again, even with all that, if you take care of the basketball and you defend you still give yourself a chance because you're not going to make every shot, you miss some shots and we missed plenty of them in the first half, without question. On the flip side of that, they made shots."
How do you feel about playing New Mexico State on Saturday and getting ready for the WAC Tournament?
"We have a tremendous challenge ahead with New Mexico State coming in, we are taking it one day at a time, just like we have all year long. But we know we have to come in and play, from here on out we have one conference game and then we are one and done."
Jonathan Wills, Fresno State, Senior Guard
How do you feel about going into your last game?
"I feel excited to play with this group of guys. I like all my teammates and we have a good team. We just have to put together 40 minutes of basketball, that's how we are going to win from here on out. You can't beat anyone by only playing 20 minutes of basketball."
What was going on the court?
"We can't let our offense dictate our defense and I think that is what happened in the first half. Shots weren't falling in and it seemed like we were playing defense just to get back on offense and we can't do that, we aren't going to beat anyone playing like that."
Michael White, Louisiana Tech, Head Coach
"I credit Fresno once again defensively they're really good, they're really solid, they swarmed the ball and when Appleby put the ball down, it seemed like there were 3 guys in front of him forcing him to make the extra pass. It allowed the other guys to get to some good looks, but they're as sound defensively as anyone in our league. I thought the way we came out and made shots early, might have effected the way the Bulldogs played man tonight instead of zone defense. Fresno State has the discipline and veteran guards that really sit down in stance and get after you."
