    FRESNO, Calif. --- The Fresno State men's basketball team used a strong night shooting and rebounding to power past the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds 77-68 in an exhibition contest at the Save Mart Center on Friday evening

    Four Bulldog newcomers - point guards Allen Huddleston and Aaron Anderson, shooting guard Marvelle Harris and forward/center Tanner Giddings - played significant minutes with Huddleston posting a team-best 19 points, eight assists and four steals.

    Giddings, a freshman who prepped at Windsor High School in the Bay Area, provided a quality presence in the post as he pulled down 10 rebounds and swatted five blocks to go with four points over 25 minutes of action.

    Senior Kevin Foster tallied 16 points and six rebounds and junior Jerry Brown posted 13 points and nine rebounds to round out three Bulldogs in double figures.

    The Bulldogs converted 27 of their 50 field goal attempts (54 percent) while holding the Sunbirds to just 24-of-63 from floor (38.1 percent).

    With the win, Fresno State improved to 8-0 all-time against FPU.

    Fresno State opens the regular season on Friday, Nov. 9 at No. 24 Texas. The game can be viewed live on ESPN's Longhorn Network (LHN), which is available in the San Joaquin Valley only through AT&T U-verse (Ch. 609).
