Paul George Night Set for Jan. 18
Former Fresno State star Paul George, who has become one of the elite players in the NBA while playing for the Indiana Pacers, will be celebrated on Jan. 18 when the Bulldogs host the New Mexico Lobos. A limited edition Paul George figurine will be given away to the first fans to the Save Mart Center for the contest against the defending Mountain West regular season and tournament champion.
Johnson Approaching 1,000 Point Milestone
Senior guard Tyler Johnson is approaching 1,000 career points as he enters Wednesday night's game at San Diego State with 979 career points. With 21 points against CSU, Johnson climbed four spots on the Bulldogs' all-time scoring list - including passing Paul George's 974 career points in two seasons. Johnson, who is in his fourth and final year at Fresno State, is 21 points away from becoming the 30th player to score 1,000 points in program history. Johnson has steadily improved in each of his four seasons - increasing his ppg from 4.4 to 9.3 to 12.1 and now 14.5 as a senior.
'Dogs Shine in OT Thrillers
In its first nine games of the season Fresno State played three overtime games - winning all three. The Bulldogs opened by beating UC Irvine 98-97 when Allen Huddleston banked in 40-foot buzzer beater. And then during its 29th Fresno State Classic, the 'Dogs outlasted Bakersfield (96-86) and Northern Arizona (71-67) to improve to 3-0 in overtime games.
