Smith Powers to WAC Freshman of the Year, All-Newcomer Team Honors
When 6-10 center Greg Smith decided to play for his hometown Bulldogs, head coach Steve Cleveland and his staff knew they were getting a talented front court player and an even more grounded and humble young man. After his first regular season campaign in a Bulldog uniform, the Western Athletic Conference coaches honored Smith as the WAC Freshman of the Year and named him to the All-Newcomer Team. The honor is the just the second in Bulldog history (Tito Maddox: 2000-01). Smith ranked in the top 20 in the nation in field goal percentage and led the team with four double-doubles. He also averaged 12 points and six rebounds per game.

    George Garners 2009-10 Second-Team All-WAC Accolades
Sophomore forward Paul George is growing into his role as an astute defender, multi-dimensional scorer and leader by example. At the end of the regular season, he was the Bulldogs' top scorer (16.6 ppg), rebounder (7.1 rpg), steals machine (2.2 spg), best free throw shooter (90.6%) and owns the most minutes/game (33.0 mpg). George (Palmdale, Calif.) had started his first 54 games before suffering a right ankle injury that kept him out of 4.5 games and came back stronger and more determined. The sophomore is known for his high-flying, spectacular and thunderous dunks, 3-point prowess and strong defensive effort.

Seay Selected to Honorable Mention All-WAC Team
Sylvester Seay, a senior forward from San Bernardino, Calif., garnered honorable mention accolades after becoming the 30th highest scorer in program history with 980 points in a Bulldog uniform and over 1,100 during his four-year Division I career. Seay has also notched the seventh most blocks (94) in Bulldog history and produced one of the ten best single-season blocking performances in 2008-09 when he recorded 58 blocks over 34 games.
