This is the first ever meeting between Fresno State and Pittsburgh.
This is the second straight season that Fresno State opens with two road games and for just the third time in the past 11 seasons.
Fresno State opened the season with a 98-97 overtime victory at UC Irvine - won on Allen Huddleston's 40-foot 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Fresno State's Marvelle Harris scored a career-high 30 points with seven rebounds and five assists in the Bulldogs' 98-97 overtime win at UCI.
Harris earned Mountain West Player of the Week honors for his career night in the 'Dogs win over UCI.
Fresno State features five returners and 10 newcomers on its roster.
Inside the Numbers
In its season-opening 98-97 overtime win, five Bulldogs scored 10 points or more for the first time in head coach Rodney Terry's tenure.
In its season-opening win, Fresno State had a +4 steal margin (9-5).
Under Terry, Fresno State has a +174 steal margin (468-294) by averaging 7.3 steals per game and a +2.7 steal edge per contest over 63 games.
Under Terry, Fresno State has committed fewer turnovers than or the same number of turnovers as its opponents in 51 of 64 games.
'Dogs Close Season-Opening Road Trip at Pittsburgh
After a thrilling 98-97 overtime win at UC Irvine in its season-opener, Fresno State (1-0) heads east for its first-ever match-up with the ACC's Pittsburgh Panthers (1-0) on Tuesday night at 4 p.m. PT at the Petersen Events Center. The game will be broadcast live on 940 AM ESPN Radio and can be heard live online for free at www.GoBulldogs.com.
About the Pittsburgh Panthers
The Pittsburgh Panthers, who are in their first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference after establishing itself as a Big East power, are led by head coach Jaime Dixon. Pittsburgh (1-0) received votes in both preseason Associated Press and Coaches Polls, and opened the season with an 88-55 home win over Savannah State on Friday at the Petersen Events Center.
Huddleston Beats Buzzer as 'Dogs Down UCI 98-97 in OT
Bulldogs' senior guard Allen Huddleston delivered the epic 40-foot 3-pointer from half court at the overtime buzzer that lifted Fresno State past UC Irvine 98-97 on Friday at the Bren Events Center. Fresno State shot a blistering 51.6 percent from the field, including 14-of-30 from beyond the 3-point arc and largely limited UCI's size advantage in the post. But to put themselves in position to take down the preseason Big West favorite, the Bulldogs turned to its backcourt - that produced an outstanding effort and scored 78 of Fresno State's 98 points.
Harris Delivers Career Night in OT Win at UCI
Sophomore shooting guard Marvelle Harris scored a career-best 30 points in Fresno State's season-opening 98-97 overtime win at UC Irvine. In total, Harris set or tied career-high marks in nine major statistical categories. He went 10-of-15 from the field, hit four of his eight 3-point attempts and added a perfect 6-for-6 clip at the free throw line. He also had seven rebounds and five assists in 44 minutes of action.
Huddleston's Buzzer-Beater Hits ESPN, Goes Viral
The game-winner - which was featured as the top story on ESPN's 11 p.m. PT Sportscenter telecast - was the fifth lead change in the final minute of overtime of a game. Later in that Sportscenter broadcast, Huddleston was on live with ESPN's Stan Verrett talking about the buzzer-beater that punctuated the opening day of the season. In the first two days after it happened, the game-winning buzzer-beater has also already been viewed more than 125,000 times on YouTube.
Johnson Nears Triple-Double in Opening Win
Senior guard Tyler Johnson posted 13 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in Fresno State's 98-97 overtime win at UCI. Johnson came up just two assists shy from what would have been the sixth triple-double in school history. But the team captain's most important decision of the night was his inbounds pass to Allen Huddleston with 2.1 seconds left in overtime that led to Huddleston's 40-foot buzzer-beater for the win.
Guerrero Heats Up, Helps Fuel Season-Opening Win
In his Fresno State debut, sophomore point guard Cezar Guerrero scored 23 points and picked up four steals as he efficiently helped fuel the Bulldogs' 98-97 overtime win at UC Irvine. Guerrero hit five 3-pointers, with four of the five made in the second half, and was key to Fresno State erasing a 10-point halftime deficit and force overtime.
Watson Makes Immediate Impact in OT WIN at UCI
Fresno State forward Paul Watson scored 18 points, including two 3-pointers, and grabbed four rebounds to help power the Bulldogs to their 98-97 overtime win at UC Irvine. Watson also came through big at the free throw line in going 6-for-8, with all of those trips coming in the second half.
