FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's men's basketball season opener at Oregon on Friday will be carried live on the radio by KOOR Radio at 790 on the AM dial.
Bulldog football and men's basketball games are broadcast live on KMJ (AM 580). However, because the Fresno State football team is playing 20th-ranked Boise State on Friday at 6 p.m., the move to KMJ's sister station, KOOR, was necessary.
A 15-minute pregame show will precede the basketball broadcast, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. Jake Bragonier will call the action from McArthur Court in Eugene, Ore.
This season, KOOR has been the Spanish home of Fresno State football games. The Spanish-version of the Bulldogs' football game with Boise State will be offered on a tape-delayed basis on KOOR following the basketball broadcast.
"We are very pleased that we will be able to accommodate both the football and men's basketball games on the radio," said Athletics Director Scott Johnson. "This is obviously a very unique situation, with such a big football game occurring on the same night as our basketball season opener. We are hoping that we have a packed house at Bulldog Stadium, and that everyone brings along their radios to tune into the basketball game."
Fresno State men's basketball games will be back on KMJ for the remainder of the year beginning with the season's second game, Nov. 29 at Santa Clara.
