FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State head coach Jerry Tarkanian is one win closer to the 700 mark without having even played a game. It was announced today that LSU has been placed on probation because a booster paid Lester Earl $5,000 to play basketball there. As part of their punishment they will forfeit all games that Earl played in, including a 79-75 win over Fresno State during the 1996-97 season. Tarkanian's record now stands at 691-158.
