FRESNO, Calif. -
Fresno State will host a longtime foe in San Diego State, a 2009 NIT Semifinalist, in Monday night's West Coast Classic contest. The Bullodgs and Aztecs are both 1-0 in Classic play. The exempt tournament is played at campus sites and brings together teams from five conferences to play four games over a two-week span. Fresno State will conclude the West Coast Classic with a trip to Santa Clara (Nov. 28) and a return to Grant's Tomb with a home game at Selland Arena against Pacific (Dec. 1).

About the Aztecs
The San Diego State Aztecs, a member of the Mountain West Conference, is 2-1 on the season. The Aztecs have defeated UC San Diego (77-52) and Santa Clara (86-53), with their loss on the road at Saint Mary's (80-58). San Diego State was a 2009 NIT Semifinalist. Head Coach Steve Fisher is in his 11th season in Montezuma Mesa. He has earned a 175-141 record at the school and a 359-223 career mark.
Against the Aztecs
This is third straight season the schools have met. Fresno State trails in their overall series with San Diego State, 52-44. The Aztecs have won the past three meetings. The last meeting came on Nov. 22, 2008 in San Diego when the Bulldogs lost 80-56. From 1986-1998, Fresno State owned a 13-1 record over their longtime rival. Steve Cleveland sports a personal 11-7 mark against the Aztecs.

Fresno State to secured a key road opening win against the NAU Lumberjacks, 65-59, on Tuesday night in a soldout J.C. Rolle Activity Center. Senior Sylvester Seay scored a season-high 22 points and pulled down six rebounds. George notched his first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Later in the week, George and fresman center Greg Smith each recorded double-doubles with 24 points and 10 rebounds as the Seattle University Redhawks frantically clipped Fresno State 85-84 on Thursday night in KeyArena. George now has eight career double-doubles in his first 37 games as a Bulldog. Smith leads the WAC in field goal shooting after converting 19 of his 22 attempts in three games.

BYU Game Moves to Fresno as Dogs Look to Conquer the Mountain
In a significant update to the Bulldog men's basketball home schedule, Fresno State will start a home-and-home series with 2009 NCAA Tournament team and three-time Mountain West Conference champion Brigham Young University on Dec. 12, 2009 at 7 p.m. in the Save Mart Center for the highlight of "Conquer the Mountain Saturday." Information will be sent to all season ticket holders, who can purchase their seats for this game as it is not included in any season ticket package. Public seats will go on sale Nov. 23. The game replaces a previously scheduled neutral-site game in Los Angeles on the same date. This marks the first time Fresno State will compete against BYU since the Cougars left the Western Athletic Conference to join the MWC in 1999.
