WEST COAST CLASSIC RECAP: Dogs Chop Lumberjacks, Edged by Aztecs
Fresno State sits in third place and sports a 1-1 mark midway through their slate of West Coast Classic games. The Bulldogs secured a key road opening win against the NAU Lumberjacks, 65-59, in a soldout J.C. Rolle Activity Center. Senior Sylvester Seay scored a season-high 22 points and pulled down six rebounds. Sophomore Paul George notched his first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. In the second Classic contest, freshman center Greg Smith continued his low post dominance and recorded his third double-double of the season, yet in a hotly contested battle, SDSU edged Fresno State 62-58. Also, in double figures for the Bulldogs were Mychal Ladd (14) and George (12).

Freshman Smith Leads Nation in Field Goal Percentage
When 6-10 center Greg Smith decided to play for his hometown Bulldogs, head coach Steve Cleveland and his staff knew they were getting a talented front court player and an even more grounded and humble young man. In just four games as a Bulldog, Smith has asserted his presence in the low post and tops the nation in field goal percentage (27-33, 81.8%), for all players with a minimum of five field goals made per game and competing in 75 percent of their team's contests. The freshman has notched three double-doubles to lead his team and leads the Dogs with an average of 8.8 rebounds per game on less than 28 minutes per contest.

SI Lists George as West's "Most Entertaining Player"
Sports Illustrated named Fresno State sophomore Paul George as the most entertaining player in the West region and the eighth most entertaining player in the nation on their list of the "Top 16 Most Entertaining Players in College Basketball." George (Palmdale, Calif.) is the only Western Athletic Conference player on the list of 16 and ranked one spot ahead of the lone Pacific-10 player, Isaiah Thomas of Washington. George caught the attention of SI.com's Luke Winn with his dunking ability and aggressive mindset.
