Scouting the Blue Hose
Presbyterian College is coming off a 20-9 season as a member of the Big South Conference. Located in Clinton, S.C., PC has an enrollment of 1,200 students. Coached by Gregg Nibert, who has more than 300 career wins at the school in 18 years, the Blue Hose and Dogs will play for the first time in history. Despite 20 wins last season, PC is struggling with a 1-11 record entering the week. That record features losses to some good programs, including Nebraska, Clemson and most recently Ohio State, 87-43, in its last game. Pat Kiscaden, a 45 percent three point shooter, leads the team in scoring at 11.3 points per game. The interesting name comes from the dark blue stockings the teams used to wear. The name has since stuck as the official team name.

Scouting the Tigers
Perennial Big West power Pacific brings an 8-3 record to the Save Mart Center with four wins in the last five games. Recent victories over Nevada, USF, Santa Clara and Montana have the Tigers playing well heading into the Holiday break. Steffan Johnson leads in the club in scoring at 15.1 points per game. Chad Trover (11.6) and Anthony Brown (11.1) are also averaging double figures in scoring. UOP is beating its opponents on the boards by an avearge of nearly five per game. The Tigers are off until Saturday's game against the Dogs.

Against the Tigers
This is the 150th meeting between these two long-time rivals. Pacific comes to Fresno for the 76th time in the series that began in 1923. Fresno State has played Pacific more in men's basketball than any other program in any sport. The Tigers own a two-game winning streak in the series. Prior to that the Dogs won seven straight. Fresno State and Pacific have not played since the 2004-05 season, a 99-63 Pacific win Steve Cleveland's first season. UOP owns a 77-72 all-time lead in the series.
