Prior to Fresno State: Played two seasons at Fresno City College under coach Tony Cavilia ... FCC went 8-3 his freshman season and 10-1 his sophomore season, compiling a undefeated regular season before losing to San Francisco in the Nor-Cal Championship ... started all 11 games as a sophomore, finishing the season third on the team in tackles.

High School: Played for coach Eric Reis at Manteca High School, leading the team to a 8-2 record as a junior in 2008 and a 7-4 record as a senior in 2009 ... was a first-team All-League selection as a junior and senior ... earned second-team All-Area honors and was the teams defensive MVP both seasons he played varsity ... had 84 tackles, three interceptions and forced two fumbles as a senior, scoring two touchdowns ... team captain.
