Coaching Career: Ludwig is in his fourth year as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach ... a finalist for the Broyles Award, presented annually to the nation?s top assistant coach ? considered one of the brightest assistants in the nation ... presides over an innovative and high-powered offense ? has developed Billy Volek, currently with the Tennessee Titans, and current Bulldog quarterback David Carr ? called the signals of an offense that featured a 4,000-yard passer, two 1,000-yard receivers and an 1,000-yard rusher, the only team ever who can boast that accomplishment ? the Bulldogs offense averaged 40.4 points per game, fourth best in the nation ? tutored Carr, considered perhaps the best quarterback in the nation ? under Ludwig, Carr became just the sixth quarterback in NCAA history to throw for at least 4,000 yards and 40 touchdown passes. He had 4,308 and 42, respectively ? Carr also won a bevy of postseason awards, including Football News Offensive Player of the Year, WAC Offensive Player of the Year, the Johnny Unitas Award and first-team All-WAC honors ?
