Fresno State: Took over at cornerback when Kendall Edwards went down for the year in the second game ? played solidly in Edwards? absence ? has seen time on special teams in the past ... moved back to his more natural safety position during spring drills ... a physical player who has worked on his coverage. (2002) Played in 14 games, starting 12 ? had 57 tackles, including three for loss ? picked off three passes, two coming in the Silicon Valley Football Classic against Georgia Tech ? scored a TD against Nevada when he took a pitch from Sam Williams 60 yards for a score ? broken up two passes ? had a 48-yard interception return for a touchdown against Georgia Tech just before the half to give Fresno State a 13-7 halftime lead ... had his best game against San Jose State, totaling seven tackles, two of which were for loss ? blocked a punt against Hawai?i. He picked up the block and returned it for a touchdown. (2001) Played all 14 games, mostly on special teams, where he was very effective ? made 23 tackles, 15 of which were solo ? had three tackles for loss and one sack ? best game was in the finale against Utah State, when he had three tackles and his only sack of the season ? finished the year with 25 tackles. High School: MVP of his Lutheran High School?s conference ? All-CIF Southern Section member ? named to the all-state team for small schools ? All-Orange County selection by the Los Angeles Times ? scored 45 career touchdowns for the Lancers ? rushed for 2,663 yards and 38 touchdowns on 275 carries (9.7 avg.) ? had 15 interceptions and 105 unassisted tackles as a senior ? averaged 35.6 yards per kickoff return with four touchdowns.
