Fresno State: Entered school as a walk-on but performed well as a freshman and earned a scholarship ... perhaps the team's best blocking tight end ... is especially a candidate to catch passes near the goal line ... owns good hands and is a dependable route runner. (2003) Competed in 12 games, starting seven ... made 13 catches for 127 yards, good for a 9.8 average ... started the year with six receptions for 69 yards in his first three games combined against the likes of Tennessee, Oregon State and Oklahoma ... an Academic All-WAC honoree. (2002) Played in all 14 games, starting eight ... had 11 receptions for 77 yards and three TDs ... is very effective inside the 10-yard line ... was effective in the Silicon Valley Football Classic, catching three passes for 22 yards ... also had a solid performance against Tulsa, against which he had two receptions for 18 yards and a score ... member of the Dean's List ... an Academic All-WAC selection. (2001) Played in 13 games, starting one ... was a reliable tight end and showed signs of his future promise ... caught eight passes for 97 yards and one touchdown ... caught three passes for 39 yards against Louisiana Tech ... his touchdown reception came against Colorado State. Personal: Born July 18, 1982 ... parents names are Patricia and George Spach ... is the eighth of 11 children ... has six brothers, David, Geoff, Danny, Kevin, Andrew and Matthew, and four sisters, Karena, Kirstin, Linnea and Audrey ... enjoys drawing and pickup basketball ... favorite athlete is Oakland Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon ... brother Geoff played football for Fresno State in 1992-93.
