Coaching Career: A bright young coach who last year returned to his alma mater, where he was an outstanding student-athlete ? worked with the cornerbacks last season and helped the development second-team All-WAC cornerback Dante Marsh ? began his coaching career in 1997 at Fresno State as a graduate assistant coach on Pat Hill?s inaugural staff ? in 1998, he was named a full-time assistant at Cal Poly as defensive backfield coach ? spent the 1999 season as secondary coach at San Jose State.

Athletics Career: The first Bulldog ever drafted in the first round of the NFL draft, selected as the 16th overall pick by the Buffalo Bills in 1990 ? had a stellar career in the NFL, selected to the NFL All-Rookie team in 1990 and played in four Super Bowls with the Bills ? played for the Arizona Cardinals in 1994 ? played with the Carolina Panthers in 1995 ? retired in 1996 as a member of the San Francisco 49ers in ? was a two-time All-Big West Conference selection at cornerback ? selected second-team All-America by The Sporting News after his senior season ? set Fresno State records for blocked kicks in a season (six) and career (nine) ? named the Defensive MVP of the 1990 East-West Shrine All-Star Game ? he earned two letters on the track and field team and won the 1986 PCAA triple jump championship (52-11) ? placed 15th at the NCAA championships in the triple jump ? ran a leg on the conference championship 400-meter relay team that set a school record of 40.18.
