Fresno State: A talented linebacker who came into his own last season … started the season as a backup linebacker but emerged as one of the team’s top defensive players … rangy, quick linebacker who is strong … one of the team’s best leapers, he doubles as a key member of the special teams as the jumper on opposing field goals and extra points. (2001) Played in all 14 games, starting seven in a row to end the year … took over at outside linebacker for Justin Johnson after six games … finished seventh on the team with 61 tackles despite playing full-time for about half the season … blocked an extra point against Colorado and a punt against Utah State … came up huge against Colorado State, making back-to-back key stops in overtime to help FS to victory … had a season-high eight tackles against Rice … racked up six tackles, including four solos, in the Silicon Valley Football Classic against Michigan State … his lone interception of the season came against Boise State.
