Fresno State Quotes vs. San Jose State

Fresno State head coach Pat Hill

"I think we did really good with the passing game ... I think he was very efficient with throwing the ball. We got some big plays down the field and that was good.

"We were able to use Ebahn (Feathers) a little bit. He made a heck of a throw on that naked bootleg."

"I think we did a really good job with our corners locked up on their wideouts. We made some good plays at the corner position. The coverage was really tight. Isaiah Green had a really nice knockout."

Desia Dunn on covering San Jose State's top receiver Kevin Jurovich

"I was able to watch his favorite moves and see what he liked to do (in film session) ... I tried to play aggressive with him as much as I could, depending on the coverage. I thought he was a pretty good wide receiver, I just did my job and it went well."

Ryan Mathews

"I have to thank my linemen for everything. Shoot, those dudes are wonderful. I tell everyone I have the best linemen in the nation and I wouldn't trade them for anyone. They really worked hard for me tonight and that made me really happy."

Ryan Colburn

"This year we're balance and we worked hard in the offseason to be able to do that. In the past, teams would come up and they'd stack the box and we didn't have the ability to push the ball down the field. So this offseason we did a lot of work practicing that to compliment our running game. And it's been paying off so far."

San Jose State coach Dick Tomey
"You have to give a lot of credit to Fresno State. We couldn't handle Ryan Mathews. He is just so strong and so fast. We missed a lot of open field tackles tonight and that's what good backs do, they make you miss."

"They were a much better team than us tonight. Mathews has given a lot of teams a lot of problems. He really is something special. He without a doubt runs among the top backs in the country."

"Coach Hill has a good football team here. They are very tough and physical and they are going to win a lot of games. We didn't move the ball well enough when we needed to, to stay close enough in this game. I believe we competed better in the second half but again there was no question that Fresno was better."

QB Jordan La Secla
"I believe the 1st quarter was our best quarter this season. We had a few missed opportunities where we needed to capitalize and we didn't. There corners like to press and they are very good at it there is no question about that."
