Hawai'i won the toss, deferred. Fresno State to receiving the opening kickoff and defend the South goal.
Senior Bryce Harris made his 36th consecutive start at left tackle for the bulldogs.
Jalen Saunders's 44-yard touchdown reception at 13:44 was his 10th TD catch of the year and he becomes the sixth Fresno State wide receiver to grab 10 or more TDs in a season. It was his sixth TD reception of 40 yards or longer this year and his ninth catch of over 40 yards on the season.
Saunders has now caught a TD in five-straight games and in 7-of-11 games this year.
Derek Carr completed his first five passes of the game for 97 yards.
Kevin Goessling hit a 32-yard field goal at 5:38 for the 60th made field goal of his career. That moved him ahead of former Hawai'i kicker Justin Ayat for the third most field goals made in WAC history.
Davon Dunn broke up the first pass of his career on a second-and-9 inside of the five-minute mark.
Josh Harper returned from a two-game absence from an injury and had two first-quarter receptions for 41 yards.
Fresno State held a 10-0 lead after the first quarter, which is the first time the `Dogs have led after the opening quarter since Oct. 1 against Ole Miss when they had a 14-13 lead. This was also the first time all year the Bulldogs shut out their opponent in the opening quarter.
Robbie Rouse scored on a one-yard touchdown run at 12:26 for his 10th rushing touchdown of the season and the 22nd of his career.
Tyeler Davison recorded his first career sack for a loss of nine yards around the 10-minute mark.
Fresno State outgained the Warriors 272-110 in the first half.
The 110 yards allowed in the first half are the fewest allowed in an opening half this season and are 49 yards fewer than the next lowest total, which was 159 to North Dakota on Sept. 17. The seven first-half points allowed are also a season-low for the Bulldog defense.
Logan Harrell recorded a two-yard tackle for a loss at 13:05. It was his 15th tackle for a loss this year, which is tied for the 10th most in Fresno State single-season history.
Hawai'i outgained Fresno State 162-77 in the third quarter.
Rouse's 28-yard run on the first play of the quarter pushed him over 100 yards rushing for the seventh time this season and the 11th in his career.
Josh Harper caught a 43-yard touchdown pass at 14:23. It was his fourth TD this year, but first since Sept. 24 at Idaho.
