    Tom Brandstater has been named the Toyota/GoBulldogs.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of January 2 following his performance in a 40-28 win over Georgia Tech at the Roady's Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, Idaho. Brandstater was named the MVP of the bowl game after he was 23-for-30 with 285 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for one touchdown and had 40 yards rushing. He had no interceptions and no sacks against a Georgia Tech defense who ranked No. 1 in sacks in the NCAA. The Bulldogs won 40-28.

    Also nominated was Kevin Bell and Tierre Wilson.
