FRESNO, Calif. --- USA Today Sports included the defending Mountain West champion Fresno State football team in its early 2013 Top 25 rankings as the No. 20 team entering next season.

Fresno State went 9-4 during the 2012 season, including a 6-0 record at Bulldog Stadium, and returns an exciting offense led by reigning MW Offensive Player of the Year Derek Carr and swarming defense for the 2013 season that begins Thursday, Aug. 29 when the Bulldogs host Rutgers.

USA TODAY Sports' Paul Myerberg noted that "the Bulldogs are the only team capable of stopping Boise State in the Mountain West Conference (and) Quarterback Derek Carr headlines an offense that flies too far under the radar. Fresno State should expect to win 10 games."

The 'Dogs were one of two MW teams featured in the early rankings, along with No. 11 Boise State.

Early Bird Football Season Tickets start at $140 and can be purchased by either calling 559-278-DOGS (Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.) or visiting www.gobulldogs.com.

"Discover Fresno State Athletics!" --- The flagship radio station of Fresno State Football starting with the 2013 season is 940 AM ESPN and the Spanish Flagship is KGST-AM "ESPN Deportes".
