FRESNO, Calif.- Fresno State is one of just 25 football programs in the nation that has four or more alums still alive in the NFL Playoffs, as the AFC and NFC Championship games are set to be played this coming Sunday.

Offensive linemen Logan Mankins and Ryan Wendell are both starters for the New England Patriot offense that leads the NFL in passing.

The other two Bulldogs on rosters of teams playing in the AFC and NFC Championship games are running back Lonyae Miller and offensive lineman Kenny Wiggins.

Miller is on the practice squad of the Baltimore Ravens and Wiggins is on the San Francisco 49ers practice squad.

Mankins, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, is in his eighth NFL season after being drafted 32nd overall in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He has been a co-captain for the Patriots in each of the past two seasons.

Wendell, who signed as an undrafted free agent with the Patriots in 2008, is in his fourth NFL season. He has started at center for the Patriots this year, his first as a full-time starter in the NFL.

Last season, Wendell and Mankins helped lead the Patriots to Super Bowl XLVI. For Mankins, it was his second appearance in the Super Bowl.
