Bulldogs Hold Annual Spring Scrimmage Saturday
March 30, 2006 FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldog football spring training session has reach the mid point and head coach Pat Hill conducting a major scrimmage on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Bulldog Stadium. The scrimmage is open to the public and free of charge. Prior to Saturday's scrimmage, the Fresno State athletics department will hold an equipment and apparel sale in the White Parking Lot. The sale begins at 8 a.m. and Bulldog fans can get great deals on new and used equipment and apparel, some previously worn by Bulldog teams. The Bulldog Shop will also have special sales items. Additionally, Bulldog Boulevard returns with games for children, food and entertainment. Bulldog Boulevard will be held in the White Lot. The sale and Bulldog Boulevard will run from 8 a.m. until the start of the scrimmage at 11 a.m. Admission and parking are free. Saturday's scrimmage will be broadcast live on Fresno State's flagship station, KMJ 580AM, with broadcast team Bill Woodward and Mark Barsotti in the booth and KMPH Fox 26 sports director Ralph Wood on the sidelines. "We have had some weather challenges the last two weeks," said Hill. "But all in all, spring ball is going well. We are getting some good work in. There has been a lot of focus on the quarterback position, but we have a lot of players battling for starting spots. We are looking forward to the scrimmage and having a good crowd. We will be working on our passing game and third down situations." This is the second of three scrimmages that Fresno State will hold. Last Saturday, the Bulldog scrimmaged in Visalia. The final scrimmage will be Friday, April 7. Ticket information for the 2006 season and Bulldog Shop merchandise will be available at both scrimmages.
