FRESNO, Calif. - With just one week until the annual spring game, Fresno State football coach Pat Hill is pleased with the progress of his team. The Bulldogs will conclude their third week of spring practice with a live scrimmage Saturday at 1 p.m. at the practice facility. The scrimmage is open to the public.

"Because of the amount of injuries we've had, some young guys have gotten a lot of reps," said Hill. "That really helps us evaluate players. The only bad thing is that with younger players getting a majority of reps, we have not been as consistent as I would like. We will have some work in the fall to get ready for the opener. As a whole, I like what I've seen from the young guys. We have had some of the veterans step up and show some leadership, which we need."

Fresno State is coming off an 8-5 season and its first WAC title and bowl appearance since 1993. The Bulldogs open the season Sept. 2 at Ohio State with the home opener against Cal on Sept. 23.

Spring drills conclude April 14 with the annual Spring Game in Bulldog Stadium at 6 p.m. The cost for the Spring Game is $3 for the general public and $2 for students. There will be an autograph session after the game.
