FRESNO, Calif. -The 2014 NFL Draft is one month away and for a number of former Bulldogs there has been lots of hard work put in from the end of the 2013 season to now as they look for a shot to further their playing careers in the National Football League.
Fresno State has had 100 players selected in the NFL Draft. With another group of Bulldogs hoping to hear their names called in this May's draft, GoBulldogs.com over the next month will highlight former 'Dogs on their 'Road to the NFL.'
Volume 1 features wide receiver and return specialist Isaiah Burse.
Burse is a two-time all-conference player and is the school's all-time leader in all-purpose yards.
Over the course of his four-year career, he caught 209 passes for 2,503 yards and 15 touchdowns. Burse is one of three players ever at Fresno State to catch over 200 career passes.
He was heavily used as both a punt and kickoff returner in his time at Fresno State and that versatility will only help him as he looks to make an NFL roster.
Burse racked up 5,873 all-purpose yards in his career to surpass former Bulldog Bernard Berrian (1999-03) as the school's all-time leader in all-purpose yardage. Berrian went on to be a third-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2004 and played eight NFL seasons.
The 2014 NFL Draft runs May 8-10, with the first round taking place on Thursday, May 8, followed by the second and third rounds on Friday, May 9. Rounds 4-7 will be held on Saturday, May 10.
