COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West and ESPN released a portion of its football national television schedule for the 2013 season on Tuesday. Among the initial seven telecasts slated on the ESPN networks is Fresno State's Sept. 20 home game against Boise State.
ESPN will televise that Friday night game between the Broncos and Bulldogs and has set the kickoff time for 6 p.m. PT.
It will be the 12th time in the last 13 seasons, going back to 2001, that ESPN has televised the Fresno State-Boise State matchup on either ESPN or ESPN2. The one season it did not was last year in 2012 when the NBC Sports Network televised the meeting that took place in Boise, Idaho.
In all, Fresno State has made 52 previous appearances on one of the ESPN Networks - ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or ABC - since 2001.
Tuesday's announcement is the first under a new agreement with ESPN as the second MW national television rights holder for Conference-controlled football games. CBS Sports Network remains the primary rights holder for the Mountain West.
Between the two networks, up to 44 football games will be televised this year on their various platforms. Broadcast details for the Mountain West package on CBS Sports Network, as well as additional telecasts on the ESPN networks, will be announced at a later date.
