FRESNO, Calif. - The only Bulldog taken in the draft was record-setting running back Ryan Mathews in the first round, No. 12 overall, to the San Diego Chargers.
Those inking as free agents were receiver Seyi Ajirotutu (San Diego), punter Robert Malone (Jacksonville), running back Lonyae Miller (Dallas), receiver Marlon Moore (Miami), cornerback A.J. Jefferson (Arizona) and receiver Chastin West (Green Bay).
Ajirotutu was Fresno State's top receiver the last two seasons, including 49 receptions for 677 yards and seven touchdowns last season, all team-highs. He ranks in the Bulldog Top 10 record books for receptions and career yardage.
Malone was the first-team All-WAC punter and a second-team Academic All-American in 2009 after averaging 45.2 yards per punt. That average would have ranked in the Top 5 nationally but he didn't have enough attempts on the season to quality for the NCAA stats.
Miller rushed for more than 2,000 career yards in his career for the Dogs and some of the longest runs in Bulldog history.
Jefferson was one of the NCAA's top return specialists in his career, leading the nation in 2007.
Moore was a versatile and explosive player for the Dogs as a receiver and return specialist. Last season he had 15 receptions for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns. He had a 92-yard touchdown against UC Davis. He led the team in receiving yards and touchdowns in 2007.
West led the Dogs in receiving in 2006 and was the third on the team last fall with 30 receptions for 472 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored on kickoff and punt returns in his career.
"We Are Your Team!" - The Bulldog football team continues its spring drills this week culminating the annual spring scrimmage on May 1 at 1 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
