FRESNO, Calif. - The 2014 NFL Draft runs Thursday through Saturday of this week and for a number of former Bulldogs, their lifelong dreams of making it in the National Football League is about to come true.

Fresno State has had 100 players selected in the NFL Draft. With another group of Bulldogs hoping to hear their names called in this May's draft, GoBulldogs.com is highlighting its former 'Dogs on their 'Road to the NFL.'

Volume 5 features wide receiver Davante Adams.

Adams, who came to Fresno State in 2011 and redshirted, went on to have a pair of monster seasons in 2012 and 2013 and declared himself eligible for the draft after his redshirt sophomore year.

Adams was a touchdown machine for the Bulldogs the last two seasons, catching at least one touchdown pass in 22 of the 26 games he played in. His 38 total touchdowns in his two playing seasons at Fresno State were five more than any other active player at the end of 2013 and he played in 10 fewer games than anyone ranked in the top 15 among active career leaders.

He ranks in a tie for 16th all-time in FBS history with his 38 career touchdown catches and his 24 TDs in 2013, which were eight more than any other player had in the nation that year, rank No. 4 all-time on the FBS single-season record list.

Adams left school also as the nation's active career leader in receptions per game (9.0) and receiving yards per game (116.5). He set a new Fresno State record with 13 100-yard receiving games, which is one of 11 school records he owns.

He was a two-time All-American at Fresno State, the winner of the 2013 Paul Warfield Award from the Touchdown Club of Columbus as the nation's best wide receiver and the 2012 Mountain West Freshman of the Year.

In his two seasons, Adams caught 233 passes for 3,030 yards and averaged 13.0 yards per catch with six touchdown receptions of over 50 yards. He had a school record nine games where he caught 10 or more passes with a high of 16 at Idaho in 2013.

The 2014 NFL Draft runs May 8-10, with the first round taking place on Thursday, May 8, followed by the second and third rounds on Friday, May 9. Rounds 4-7 will be held on Saturday, May 10.
