COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West announced Wednesday an adjustment to its package of Friday football telecasts for the 2014 season, which has moved Fresno State's game at UNLV in the second week of October to Friday, Oct. 10 for a national telecast on CBS Sports Network. Kickoff for the game has been set at 7 p.m. PT.
The date change now gives Fresno State four Friday games in consecutive weeks, with three of the four being played on the road. The stretch starts on Friday, Sept. 26 with a road game at New Mexico and continues Oct. 3 at home against San Diego State. Then after the UNLV game, Fresno State will travel to play at Boise State on Friday, Oct. 17. All three of the Friday night road games will be televised nationally.
Fresno State's game at UNLV was originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11 before the move.
The addition of the CBS Sports Network broadcast brings Fresno State's total of national TV games in 2014 to eight (four on CBS Sports Network, four on one of the ESPN networks).
This telecast replaces the Northern Illinois at UNLV game originally slotted for CBSSN carriage on Friday, Sept. 12. That game will now revert to Saturday, Sept. 13 due to unforeseen logistical challenges and is currently untelevised.
Last season, Fresno State defeated the Rebels 38-14 in Bulldog Stadium. The 2014 meeting at UNLV will be the Bulldogs' first against the Rebels in Las Vegas since Oct. 26, 1996. However, Fresno State has visited the city twice since then as participants in the Las Vegas Bowl (1999 and 2013).
"Catch the Wave" - The official home of the Fresno State Bulldogs is 940 AM ESPN Radio and ESPN Deportes 1600 AM.
