FRESNO, Calif. - Kickoff times and television assignments for Fresno State's first two games of the 2014 season were set on Thursday and the 'Dogs will open up the year with a pair of nationally televised games.
Fresno State's season opener on Aug. 30 at USC will be shown nationally at 4:30 p.m. PT on FOX, with a simulcast on FOX Deportes. This is a rematch of last season's Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl where the Trojans defeated the Bulldogs.
Then the following week, Sept. 6 at Utah, the Pac-12 Networks will carry the game between the Utes and Bulldogs that is the first between schools since 1999. That game is scheduled for a 12 p.m. PT kickoff.
Thursday's announcement now gives Fresno State 10 nationally televised games in 2014.
The Bulldogs are coming off an 11-2 season and enter year three under head coach Tim DeRuyter looking to defend their Mountain West championships that they have won in each of the first two seasons of DeRuyter's tenure.
Fresno State returns 16 starters and 37 letterwinners and is looking to build upon its 20-6 record over the past two seasons.
