Bulldogs Sign Defensive Lineman Gabe Newman

    FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State head football coach Tim DeRuyter announced Wednesday that the Bulldogs have signed defensive lineman Gabe Newman to a financial aid agreement to attend school and play football for the 'Dogs beginning in 2014.

    Newman, a 6-5, 255-pound defensive lineman from Diablo Valley College, will have four years to complete his three remaining seasons of eligibility at Fresno State.

    As a freshman at Diablo Valley in 2013, Newman had 15 tackles and 2.5 sacks that went for a loss of 15 yards.

    Newman graduated from Acalanes High School located in Lafayette, Calif. where he was selected to the All-Bay Area Newsgroup third-team as a senior in 2012.
