CLEVELAND, Ohio - Fresno State sophomore wide receiver Davante Adams has been named to Phil Steele's 2013 Preseason All-America fourth-team, the publication announced on Wednesday.
Phil Steele's 2013 College Football Preview, which is set to hit newsstands on June 18, also has Fresno State ranked No. 22 in its preseason poll.
Adams was a fourth-team All-America selection of Steele last season when he was named the 2012 Mountain West Freshman of the Year. He was also an honorable mention All-America pick by Sports Illustrated and was named to the Freshman All-American teams of CBSSports.com, Phil Steel and The Sporting News.
Adams led the Mountain West in every receiving category in 2012. He also led all FBS freshmen receivers in receiving yards, yards per game and touchdown catches.
His 102 receptions were 32 more than any other Mountain West receiver posted, were the fourth-most in MW single-season history for any receiver and two behind the Fresno State single-season record. Adams' 1,312 receiving yards was 458 more than any other Mountain West player and his 14 touchdowns were five more than any other player in the conference had.
He ranked third nationally in touchdown catches and caught a touchdown pass in each of the final eight games of the season, setting a new MW record and tying the school record for consecutive games with a touchdown catch.
In 2012, Adams ranked eighth in the FBS in total receptions, ninth in receptions per game (7.85) and total receiving yards and was 10th in receiving yards per game (100.92).
