FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State football coaching staff will be busy during the next two weeks, hosting 24 high schools and over 1,400 players on campus for the largest team football camp in the state of California.
According to Assistant Head Coach Dennis Wagner, the Fresno State team camp has become the largest in the state drawing high schools from as far south as San Diego and from far north as the Bay Area.
"This camp has really grown," said Wagner, who directs Fresno State's football camps. "The interest in this camp from high schools all over the state continues to increase. We have teams from San Diego and Los Angeles that come up for it. The word has spread that this a great camp with great teaching and competition. It's a great chance for our staff to be able to work with some of the best high school players and coaches in the state."
The first session of the team camp will be held June 18-21 and the second session is scheduled for June 22-25. Scrimmages will be held between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. each evening of the camp at the Fresno State football training facility. The scrimmages are free and open to the public.
