FRESNO, Calif. - For Fresno State and its thousands of alumni throughout California, summer means fall's just ahead with opportunities to root for Bulldog football.

And the 2008 season will be an especially good opportunity for Southern California residents to root for the Bulldogs when they play UCLA in Pasadena's storied Rose Bowl on Sept. 27.

The Fresno State Alumni Association is organizing a pregame tailgate that Saturday at nearby Brookside Golf Course, giving Bulldog fans an opportunity to gather with Fresno State alumni and their families from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

There will be music, activities, appearance by the Fresno State Marching Band, Timeout, and the Spirit Squad, lots of food and time to meet with old and new friends.

It will be the first Bulldog tailgate in Southern California since Fresno State's 2005 visit to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, when the team just missed a stunning upset of a USC team that went on to the national championship.

Reservations are being accepted now for the event, which costs $30 for Alumni Association members, $35 for nonmembers and $15 for children (10 and under). Fans also can purchase game tickets through the Alumni Association.

Call the Fresno State Alumni Association at 559.278-2586 or click here for details. https://www.alumniconnections.com/olc/pub/CAF/events/CAF2157041.html
