COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West announced Friday that Fresno State's season-opening game against Rutgers, to be played in Bulldog Stadium on Aug. 29, has been selected to be televised on ESPNU with kickoff moving back to 7:30 p.m.

This will be Fresno State's fifth game this season that will appear on one of the ESPN network of channels and its seventh game slated for a national telecast.

The season opener on Aug. 29 has been dubbed a "White Out Game." The team will be unveiling a unique white helmet, and wearing their full white uniform for the game. The Bulldog Shop will go on sale this summer with a special white t-shirt to commemorate the game. Fans are encouraged to turn Bulldog Stadium into a white wave.

Fresno State and Rutgers have met once before, in the 2008 season opener when the Bulldogs defeated the Scarlet Knights 24-7. In that game, which was televised nationally on ESPN, Ryan Mathews rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns. Fresno State was ranked No. 25 nationally at that time.

Friday's announcement is part of the Conference's national television package for MW-controlled contests in 2013. A total of 44 football games will air across various platforms on CBS Sports Network, the Mountain West's primary rights holder, and ESPN, the league's second national television partner. Last month, the initial slates of ESPN and CBS Sports Network selections were released. Additional television exposure for non-conference road contests will be announced at a later date, along with information regarding telecasts as part of the MW regional agreement with ROOT SPORTS and carriage plans for the MW Digital Network.

The Bulldogs report for fall camp on Aug. 1 to begin preparations for the 2013 season and their opening day opponent Rutgers.
