FRESNO, Calif. - As the summer moves quickly toward the fall and the start of the 2009 college football season, the Fresno State athletics department will once again take its Bulldog Caravan to the Valley.

The caravan will hit six locations over a two-week period, with head football coach Pat Hill making appearances in Bakersfield, Clovis, Fresno, Lemoore and Visalia.

Last year, the caravan made stops in Bakersfield, Merced and Modesto, in addition to Visalia and Bakersfield.

The first caravan stop will be at the Riverpark Farmers Market in Fresno on Tuesday, July 7, from 5-9 p.m.

The caravan will conclude in Bakersfield on July 16 with two stops. Hill will be speaking at the Rotary Luncheon at noon and then greet fans at Tahoe Joes from 4-6 p.m.

At each caravan site, the Fresno State athletics department will have ticket and marketing information for the upcoming Bulldog football season. TimeOut and other athletics department personnel will be at the caravan sites to promote Bulldog athletics.

Coach Hill will be available to sign autographs, take pictures with fans and will talk about the exciting season ahead.

Hill will also make a special visit to the Lemoore Naval Air Station to talk with the service personnel and while in Visalia will spend time with underprivileged youth.

The Bulldogs open the season on Sept. 5 in the Football Fiesta Night celebration against UC Davis. Fresno State will honor the Hispanic community in activities during that game.

Fresno State's second home game is against defending WAC champion Boise State on Friday, Sept. 18, in a game that will be nationally televised by ESPN2.

There are a variety of excellent ticketing plans for the 2009 season, including:
