Fast Facts: Ticket Sales Trending in Upward Direction
FRESNO, Calif. --- With excitement building for the return of Fresno State Football, the resurgence of the Red Wave has turned into over 3,000 new season tickets sold for this fall's six home games at Bulldog Stadium.
"We have seen tremendous support building on many different fronts throughout the Valley as the start to the 2013 football season is about to begin," Senior Associate Athletics Director Paul Ladwig said. "In our new proactive model in ticket sales, we have created a new trend in the numbers of supporters buying tickets and seats sold. We are not done yet and will continue find the right price point and value for our fans."
Fresno State opens the 2013 season on Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m. PT versus Rutgers in a special WHITE OUT game with all fans asked to wear white as the Bulldogs will be wearing their new white helmets, along with white uniforms.
In an effort to improve attendance and ticket sales, Fresno State entered into a strategic partnership with Legends Sales & Marketing (LSM) to provide enhanced customer service and outreach, specifically tailored to serving the culture of the San Joaquin Valley.
"We are thrilled with the response we have received from the fans of Fresno State," said Al Guido, Senior Vice President of Legends Sales & Marketing. "Our goal is always to form partnerships with properties that are built on strong foundations and Fresno State embodies that profile. The athletic department, faculty, students and alumni have been tremendous partners and we would not be where we are today without their support. We are excited for the upcoming season and look forward to representing Fresno State athletics for years to come."
With Legends, Fresno State has had a seven-person sales team dedicated to enhancing the level of customer service available to Bulldog fans by ensuring that every season ticket holder has a personal account representative to communicate with as often as necessary. With that team in place, a true outbound communications effort has been executed and more customers are being reached.
At Fresno State, the new ticket sales and service staff are already surpassing expectations by exceeding the initial 3,000 new season ticket benchmark well before the start of the football season. The team also helped in the retention of 91 percent of season ticket holders from the 2012 season - a ten percent increase based on the per season average over the past five years.
In addition to strong season ticket sales numbers, Red and White Lot parking passes are sold out for the entire 2013 football season.
Extremely limited group tailgate spaces in the Red and White Lots remain just for the Aug. 29 opener vs. Rutgers and the Nov. 23 game vs. New Mexico. These tailgate spaces are only available for groups of 50 or more and can be purchased until sold out by calling 559-278-DOGS.
"The success we've seen this offseason shows what is possible with a proactive approach and great support from our community," Ladwig said.
Legends is owned by the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys and the Checketts Partners Investor Fund and serves as an industry-leading sports entertainment company. Legends is also responsible for seat licenses and suite sales for the San Francisco 49ers at the new Levi's Stadium, which recently won the bid to play host to the 50th Super Bowl. LSM has provided Fresno State specialized premium tickets sales and service.
