Football Season Ticket Sales Surpass 27,000

    Aug. 28, 2000

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's season football ticket sales continued to be strong, surpassing the 27,000 mark today, according to athletics ticket manager Scott Wetherbee.

This morning's total of 27,011 is ahead of pace to break the all-time record of 28,375 season tickets sold in 1993. Season tickets for Fresno State students are also on a record pace. Student season tickets are available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each weekday at the Free Speech Area on campus.

"Student season sales have been very strong," Wetherbee said. "The use of the Web site has brought in new season ticket holders, plus the Family Fun Packages continue to sell well. We have been averaging nearly 1,000 season tickets per week so sales have been very strong."

According to Wetherbee, less than 100 number of Family Fun Packages remain. The Family Fun Package, which includes two adult and two children's reserved season tickets, sell for $216.

Fresno State is coming off an 8-5 overall record and WAC championship in 1999. The Bulldogs made their first bowl appearance since 1993, losing to Utah 17-16 in the EA Sports Las Vegas Bowl.

Season tickets and Family Fun Packages are available at the Bulldog Ticket Office, online at www.gobulldogs.com or by calling (559) 278-DOGS. Single game tickets will go on sale at the Bulldog Ticket Office or via the website beginning Sept. 5. Single game phone orders will not be accepted until Sept. 7.
