Dogs Hit the Road for the First Time in 2007: In addition to Fresno State's first road game of the season, the Dogs are heading to Texas A&M, an opponent they've never faced. Saturday's game at 12:30 p.m. PT will be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net, the first of five national games for the Dogs this season. About Texas A&M: The Aggies enter the week ranked No. 25 and are coming of a 38-7 win over Big Sky Conference opponent Montana State. Texas A&M scored 38 unanswered points in the game and was led by quarterback Stephen McGee who rushed for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns, one of which was for 65 yards. The Aggies were 9-4 last season, 5-3 in the Big 12. After an 8-1 start to the season, the Aggies lost three of their final four games, but that win was a big one, as they defeated rival and defending national champion Texas 12-7. The Aggies lost to Cal 45-10 in the Holiday Bowl. Last Week: Fresno State opened the 2007 campaign with a 24-3 win over Sacramento State. The Dogs used a stifling defense and a sound running game to dominate the Hornets in what was the first meeting between the two California State University member schools since 1972. Against the Big 12:
Texas A&M is the first of two Big 12 schools on the 2007 Bulldog schedule. The Dogs host Kansas State later in the year (Nov. 24), a game that will be televised nationally. The Dogs are 2-8 all-time against teams from the Big 12, with both wins coming in the Pat Hill era. Hill is 2-5 against schools from the Big 12. All of those games have been on the road.
Dogs Love Big Venues: Rated the top college football stadium by CBSSportsline.com, Kyle Field seats 82,600 fans. Of those attending, nearly 30,000 are students, which creates an amazing gameday atmosphere. The Dogs are no strangers to playing in such venues. In recent years the Dogs have played at some stadiums comparable to or larger than Kyle Field.
