20 Bulldogs Make NFL Rosters
Sept. 7, 2012
By Jason Clay FRESNO, Calif. - With the start of the 2012 season this week, Fresno State has 20 alumni on the rosters of NFL teams. The Bulldogs have six players on the practice squads of NFL teams and 14 on active 53-man rosters, which ties with San Diego State for the second-most in the Mountain West. Boise State leads the league with 20 former players on active rosters of NFL teams. Fresno State also has more current NFL players than four Pac-12 schools, topping: Colorado (11), Oregon State (3), Washington (12) and Washington State (7). Defending Super Bowl Champions David Carr and Bear Pascoe of the New York Giants started off the 2012 season on Wednesday night in a game against the Dallas Cowboys. Pascoe had one catch for six yards in the game. The rest of the NFL games on week one will be played on Sunday and Monday.
