Wylie Named Midseason All-American

    CLEVELAND, Ohio - Fresno State senior wide receiver Devon Wylie was named to Phil Steele's Midseason All-America second team as a punt returner, the publication announced Thursday.

    Wylie has returned two punts for touchdowns this year, which is tied for the most in the nation and he ranks seventh in the FBS with a 17.6 average on 21 punt returns.

    Fellow senior Logan Harrell, who is tied for sixth nationally with 10 tackles for a loss, was named to Steele's Midseason All-America honorable mention team.

    In addition to the All-America teams that were released, the publication also came out with its 2011 Midseason All-WAC Teams. Fresno State had five Bulldogs honored on the first team, one on the second team and four on the third team.

    Junior running back Robbie Rouse, offensive tackle Bryce Harris, cornerback L.J. Jones along with Wylie and Harrell all made the Midseason All-WAC first team. Senior offensive lineman Leslie Cooper was named to the second team while quarterback Derek Carr, receiver Jalen Saunders, linebacker Travis Brown and kicker Kevin Goessling all made the third team.

    "We Are Your Team" - The Bulldogs take on Utah State this Saturday for Homecoming at Fresno State. Kickoff from Bulldog Stadium is at 7 p.m.
