FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State Athletic Director Al Bohl announced today that ticket sales for the Fresno State vs. Rice football game, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 6, have reached 35,073. Bulldog Stadium capacity is 41,031.

The Rice game has implications on the 1999 Western Athletic Conference race. The Owls are 5-3 overall and 4-0 in WAC games while the Bulldogs are 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the WAC. Fresno State can claim its first outright WAC title by winning its remaining four games, two of which are at home.

"There is renewed excitement in our community about our football program," said Bohl. "We have had some very exciting home games this season, including two wins in overtime, and a big victory over Colorado State. It looks like we are on track for a sellout in Bulldog Stadium and we want to alert our fans to get their tickets early."

Tickets for the game are available at the Bulldogs Athletics Ticket Office, the Bulldog Shop or by calling 278-DOGS. Tickets are available for $20, $18 and $16. Fresno State student tickets are $5.
